Please Don’t Go - Barcelona
After Pit Senyor-ing over the weekend, I’m still in a bit of a high. And I thought that this song was the perfect way to calm and steady down, and gain momentum of Manila life.
It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of piano music. Any artist that wields the piano as his/her main instrument, playing mainly slow (often times sad) songs wins my heart. And this song is no exemption. If there’s one thing, it’s one of the most exceptional songs I’ve ever heard.
Initially many go, “doesn’t the song remind you of Coldplay a bit?” Quite frankly, I don’t really care much about the similarity of sound style. I think the song is marvelous as it is, and the band is just as talented as well.
I like the haunting yet soothing tone of the song; if you pay attention to the lyrics, there are hints of desperation and begging, lots of begging. And yet, the ideas of desperation and (lots of) begging have never sounded so graceful and poised and definitely beautiful.
Cheers and thank God for Music!
I swear music saves.
