Tonight, is yet another cover. Placebo style. The controversial Kate Bush song “Running Up That Hill” a.k.a. “A Deal With God.”

It’s funky, how the title had to be changed to Running Up That Hill because of rather, limited mentalities. Perhaps it’s the times then? I don’t know. Many countries then were thinking that the title A Deal With God was blasphemous. But if you listen to it, there’s not one thought of blasphemy in the song. And the idea is rather, genius.

I like this cover of Placebo. It’s so organic. Yeah, it’s electrified-rock in terms of the medium, but when you listen to it… don’t you feel your heart beat? Don’t you find yourself doing a quick analysis of self vis-a-vis the song’s lyrics? And doesn’t the music just keep you tense (energy collected yet unspent) to the end? It’s marvelous like that.

Well, I keep talking. You listen, and tell me. One thing I’m certain of, is that this song is an electrifying delight! An outstanding remake, I daresay even better than the original. (But props to Kate Bush for writing this song, else no Placebo version right?) So I end with that, to all a g’night.

Thank God for music!
